JSC Click
As Uzbekistani fintech JSC Click evolved from a 2011 start-up into a dominant fintech leader with a team of more than 500 specialists, holding on to both the company’s high-level talent and market leadership in such a fiercely competitive IT labour market was business critical.
But the firm’s internal engagement survey showed that employees wanted enhanced non-monetary motivation and a more structured system for peer-to-peer recognition. The people team recognised that the company’s existing traditional methods were no longer sufficient to retain top talent in a world where “emotional fulfillment and professional freedom are priorities”.
As a result, Click Choyхona, an innovative, gamified benefits platform that merges national Uzbek traditions with modern motivational tools, was rolled out between January and October 2024. In a ‘benefits cafeteria’, employees can earn ‘suyunchi’ points for professional achievements, social initiatives and innovation, while the ‘rahmat’ (thank you) mechanic facilitates peer-to-peer gratitude to strengthen team cohesion.
The ecosystem, blending tech and tradition, promotes a culture of recognition, allowing staff to exchange points for personalised perks in the ‘Click bazaar’, effectively blending cultural identity with high-tech HR management. The PMA judges applauded the “clear connection between the organisation’s culture and ambition” and the blend of traditional and modern technology to solve the real problem of talent acquisition and retention as a “joy to read”. The launch was accompanied by a strategic internal and external PR campaign that included a ceremonial launch, the creation of unique project attributes such as stickers and a social media strategy aimed at the youth market.
Following the implementation, the company saw an 11 per cent increase in engagement, reaching a total of 86 per cent, which “significantly improved the overall team climate and individual performance”. And the cultural shift directly influenced JSC Click’s retention rate, resulting in a 19 percentage point reduction in turnover, dropping from 32 to 13 per cent. Looking ahead, the company now plans to transition the tool into a software as a service (SaaS) product and a white-label solution for the regional market.
“By transforming HR management into a data-driven, culturally rooted ecosystem, Click has ensured that employee wellbeing is not just a project, but a primary and sustainable driver of our long-term business growth and market leadership,” the business said.
