NED/Advisor/Mentor , Self Employed (previously Pret A Manger CPO)

Andrea is a Non-Exec and a People Advisor to CEOs and Senior Leaders. Her purpose is to support businesses to have effective people initiatives in place so that they have the right people in the right places and employees are engaged and happy, contributing brilliantly to the achievement of the organisation's strategy.

Andrea supports aspiring People Leaders to be the best they can be through individual support and Mentoring.

Andrea is also on a number of Advisory Boards of companies operating in the People space whose products and offer can contribute significantly to individual and organisation growth.

Until March 2023 Andrea Wareham was Chief People Officer for Pret A Manger where she worked for 23 years. Pret creates freshly prepared food and organic coffee and during Andrea's time at Pret she played a significant role in the successful growth of the business to 600 shops in 13 countries across Europe, Asia and America with 11,500 employees.

She was responsible for ensuring all People activities were in place in support of the business strategy including a key focus on engagement and culture as well as recruiting, training, providing meaningful career opportunities, employee relations and pay and reward for Pret people internationally. A key focus for Andrea, alongside Pret's Board, was ensuring Pret continued to live its values and retained its people focused culture.

During the last 10 years with Pret, Andrea was a trustee of the Pret Foundation which manages the donation of food from Pret shops to the homeless, as well as offering direct support to homeless charities and an employment scheme for disadvantaged people.

She previously worked for Arthur Andersen and Harrods.  Andrea grew up in Asia, has a degree in Social Sciences from Durham University and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). She lives in South West London and has two children.
