Western Power Distribution (WPD) is the electricity distribution network operator for the Midlands, South West England and South Wales. The company invests £1billion a year in its network.

Its 6,500 employees keep the lights on for nearly 8million households and businesses. They are also instrumental in adapting the network to support the mass adoption of electric vehicles and decarbonisation of power, placing WPD at the forefront of the country’s green recovery. It’s an exciting, revolutionary time to be apart of the energy industry.

The electricity distribution industry is traditionally male-dominated and WPD is committed to encouraging girls in particular to take up STEM subjects and consider a career in engineering.
